Goodwill and The Big Bang

Today, I decided to check out the local thrift store and to my delight, I found that they had just gotten in a whole bunch of new CD's! And it wasn't just from one specific genre. They had all kinds of good stuff: AC/DC, Corinne Bailey Rae, Everything But the Girl, Modest Mouse, Stevie Wonder, Modest Mouse, Chicago, I could go on and on.

And who knew that Goodwill was a good place to meet girls? Well, not I, but apparently it could be. Also perusing the CD's was a very cute 20 something punk rocker girl, D, who seemed to love music as much as I did.
She had some nice ink on her arms and seemed to have a decent sense of humor as she not only loved the "SPAM" mug I found, but she profusely apologized for sticking the "cut on her backside" in my face as she went through the stores CD's.
She talked quite a bit on different bands she was into, I could see from her huge stack of CD's she definitely found lots of good stuff, [Classic Yeah Yeah Yeahs, older Modest Mouse, and The Adolecents (apparently a punk rock band that was around before I was even born) just to name a few]. I myself had a few cd's in my hand including an awesome Death Cab for Cutie CD that I own digitally, but I had to pass as the CD was scratched pretty badly.

But Goodwill wasn't done yet, on the way out, I ran into another girl who had just checked out the music section and I complimented her on a few of her selections (Everything But the Girl and Alanis' JLP album). We talked music for a bit as she picked my brain in the register line while we waited to pay.

When it was all said and done, I walked away with only one album. But it was definitely a gem.
Awesome.

Oinksters

Today, J & J went out to ER to hangout with M & T. I stayed behind, still feeling the effects of that viral bug. I slept for most of the day, but upon their return, they had a surprise for me. Apparently, M had gotten me a some grub! Huzzah!
PS. It was a 1/2 Rotisserie Chicken with Belgian Fries, Beans, and Garlic Aioli.

Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold

I saw this on my ceiling last week, I don't know how long it had been up there, but darn you J. I've tasted my own medicine and it is not good.
In other news, I've been playing this Eric Clapton song all weekend. Amazing tune.

Wuxia Movie Marathon.

Starring Jackie Chan.

2 of the 4 Jackie Chan Movies I watched.

This all came about because I saw Project A and Who Am I? on TV the other day and since I couldn't really go out due to a lingering cough, I thought why not start a Jackie marathon.

Movies watched:

Operation Condor, Mr. Nice Guy, First Strike, and Twin Dragons

Maybe next time I'll do a Police Story Marathon.

Mission Improbable

J, this is your mission if you choose to accept it:

I've left all the necessary documents on the passenger seat of your Honda Civic Hybrid.

First: I need you to go to City Hall East and navigate the maze parking structure and locate the elevator.

Second: Use the bridge and crossover to main City Hall and take the elevator to the 9th floor.
[not pictured]
Thirdly: Drop off top secret documents to the accounting department and decide on a rendezvous.
Advice: Be discreet and avoid taking any extraneous photos like the ones above.
Succeed and the reward is yours.

BTW: This blog post will self-destruct in 5 seconds.

*knock *knock *knock, Penny. *knock *knock *knock, Penny. *knock *knock *knock, Penny.

  • So by watching 35 episodes of The Big Bang Theory,
  • and with each episode being roughly, 22 minutes,
  • adding 5 minutes to insert the dvd and watch any trailers setting up the playback,
  • give or take about 10 seconds each episode for switching in between episodes,
  • While considering an approximate 5 potty breaks including showers averaging 10 minutes a break, during the time span,
  • and adding another 15 minutes to grab snacks and meals
  • and I'll be using a value of 1 hour as a "catch all" for any extra time wasted.
We can come to the conclusion that I spent 15.09 hours of my life focused on this show.
And you can use my equation too! It's just:
Y(time spent) = (Number of episodes x episode duration) + total setup up duration + fractional time used to episode switch (usually in seconds so divide by 60), + ('n' potty breaks * the mean potty duration) + the time used to prepare nutrients + any other miscellaneous time wasters (ie. pointless conversations).
It's rather simple really. Just make sure all your units are the same, ok?
And this doesn't even take into consideration the 3 episodes I rewatched and the bonus features featurette. But hey, who's counting. :/

Another Flippin' Birthday

Brotip: Never ask a girl if she smells like guacamole.
Don't you just love 'em?!

This time it was at Yardhouse for S's Happy Birthday shindig. It was very relaxed. I was a good boy and only had one drink, because I didn't feel too well earlier in the day. (I think it was the LJS. Grr.)
The Lunchbox. (It's suppose to taste like a twinkie.) :/ L & S smile for http://thesmilefactory.blogspot.com/

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Met up with S, R, and N at Patrick's Pub in Costa Mesa. The hated the fact I shaved off the awesomeness that was my beard. :/ Actually, I probably shaved it a day too early too I think, or if anything I probably should of just trimmed it. After all, according to T, it makes me look "prominent". HAHA.

N, S, and myself enjoying the first beer of the night.
Myself and Col. Mustard from Clue fame. Ohh, nevermind, It's just Me and R.
Afterwards we went out to Kitsch Bar to meet up with J. J brought along a few other friends: C, A, P, and J. And we hung out a bit longer until I decided it was time for me to call it a night and get some sleep. The night may be over for now, but Beerfest is in a month.

Babyface

I shaved. I think it makes me look years younger. Sorry if you liked the beard, but hey, It'll grow back in a month or two. :D
BTW: Just for that all important 18-49 female readership demographic, yes, I took this photo with no shirt on! HAHAHA. Also BTW, that is not a "seductive" smile. That is a "OMG I forgot to take a picture for the day and I just want to go to sleep" smile.
